VOLUNTEER: Learn about yourself by helping the World

Being a volunteer is for you the chance to make a contribution at a global level, by gaining an experience that you will not find elsewhere. As a volunteer you will learn a lot from Kenya, and you will then learn much more from Kibera and its community whose culture and habits are so unique.

The variety of opportunities available is huge. Whatever you have done before, there are a lot of activities and your mission can be focused on various areas:

- Education
- IT
- Sports
- Cultural and artistic development
- Building
- Gardening
- Sharing any other skill

Volunteers are highly involved in SHOFCO. You will have the opportunity to assist to the meetings in order to share your ideas with the locals. Then you will become aware of all the concepts that already have been implemented within the community and also of the ones coming soon. The idea is to understand what the problems are, and to have a clear understanding of the causes and the consequences.
The meetings will also offer you the possibility to bring new ideas in order to improve the life in Kibera. People coming from abroad have an external view and have the capacity to bring new points of view with different solutions.

Volunteering overseas provides an unforgettable experience, and your trip will be different from all what you have known before. Because we want you to enjoy it as much as possible, please take a moment to consider these different points:
