Kibera, with about one million people, is the biggest slum in Africa.

This informal settlement is home to a quarter of capital Nairobi’s population and is composed of 12 main villages that are all plagued by the same problems of poverty, poor sanitation and environmental health, makeshift housing and the HIV/Aids pandemic.

SHOFCO, an organisation developed within Kibera and by Kiberians, helps the youths of the slum by developing their potential to the maximum in various intellectual or sports activities.

Thanks to a hopeful working environment, we build their capacity and allow these youths to face the challenges that affect them in life.
