PRE-QUALIFICATION OF SUPPLIERS FOR 2023-2024

 

1.1       Introduction 

SHOFCO Sacco Society Ltd would like to invite interested candidates who must qualify by meeting the set criteria as provided by Shofco Sacco Society Ltd to perform the contract of supply and delivery or provision of goods and services to the society.

 

1.2      Objective  

The main objective of pre-qualification of suppliers is to supply and deliver assorted Goods and Services under relevant Tenders/quotations to the Society as and when required.

 

1.3      Invitation of Pre-qualification 

Suppliers registered with the Registrar of Companies under the laws of Kenya, business names and any other relevant organization in respective merchandise or services are invited to submit their pre-qualification documents to The General Manager, Shofco Sacco Society Ltd, so as to be prequalified for submission of quotations. The prospective suppliers are required to provide mandatory information for pre-qualification.

 

1.4      Pre-qualification Documents  

This document includes a questionnaire to be completed and returned with the tender and be supported by the requisite documents from eligible and competent bidders.  In order to be considered for pre-qualification, prospective suppliers must submit all the information required on the forms / questionnaire

 

1.5 Pre-qualification  

It is understood and agreed that the pre-qualification data on prospective bidders is to be used by the Society in determining, according to its sole judgment and discretion, the qualification of prospective bidders to perform in respect with the tender category as described by the client.

 

1.6      Essential Criteria for Pre-qualification 

  Experience – Prospective suppliers of goods and services should demonstrate ability and experience to organize, supply and deliver any of the categories of goods and services listed in the Tender Notice.

 

Financial Capability  

The supplier’s financial capability will be determined by examination of the latest 2 year audited financial statements submitted with prequalification documents as well as letters of references from the bankers regarding credit/financial position.

 

Past Performance  

The past performance of suppliers shall be given due consideration in the prequalification exercise. Letters of reference from the past and present clients should be included.

 

Capacity of the Firm 

Prospective suppliers of goods and services should demonstrate that they have the technical, physical, logistical and human resource capacity to supply and deliver the category of goods and/or services that they are seeking to be pre-qualified for.

 

1.7      Notification of Pre-qualification  

All participants shall be notified formally of the outcome after completion of the prequalification process

 

1.8      Presentation 

A table of contents illustrating the contents of the documents is compulsory, as it creates ease of evaluation and will help verify the contents

 

1.9      Verification  

The Society shall have the right to visit the suppliers’ premises to verify the information provided in the document and ascertain as part of the prequalification process, that the supplier in deed has the capability to provide the stated goods and or service

 

2.0 Submission of Pre-Qualification Documents  

Interested suppliers may download forms from our website www.shofco.org or collect them physically from our office during working hours.

A non –refundable payment of Kshs. 1,000 per category should be paid via our Bank account as follow;

WATER SUPPLY NETWORK TENDER

TENDER NO: SHOFCO-KIBRA-LOT 2

Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO) combats extreme poverty and gender inequity in Kenya by linking tuition-free schools for girls to a set of high-value, holistic community services for the urban poor. In our model, a girls’ school becomes a portal for large-scale social change. Through a demand-driven approach to grassroots development, our model extends beyond the schools for girls, broadening outreach by providing communities with integrated basic services through three other initiatives: health, community empowerment, and clean water and sanitation.

SHOFCO has received financing for the construction of a Water Supply Project in the informal sector of Kibra and is currently seeking eligible contractors for the proposed project in Kibra. SHOFCO hereby invites sealed TECHNICAL bids from eligible and qualified bidders to provide the water supply network. The scope of work to be executed under this contract comprises of construction of:

  • 48m3 Elevated Steel Tank, 15m high – 2Nr.
  • 32m3 Elevated Steel Tank, 15m high – 2Nr.
  • Water Kiosks – 25Nr.
  • Installation of Aerial Pipelines. – 10.6km
  • Pipeline support pillars.

 

Details of works and a complete set of the BOQs and drawings in English will be available for inspection at the SHOFCO website www.shofco.org. Interested and qualified contractors are invited to download the tender document, BOQs and drawings free of charge from the SHOFCO website. ONLY TECHNICAL PROPOSALS will be submitted at this stage and shall be completed and submitted in accordance with the requirements in the bid document and MUST be submitted in the SHOFCO tender box on or before 12.00 noon, Thursday 22nd September, 2022. Interested and eligible bidders or their representatives are required to attend a MANDATORY site visit on Wednesday 14th September, 2022 at 10.00am at SHOFCO, KIBERA SCHOOL FOR GIRLS, GATWEKERA to familiarize themselves with the site condition. Bidders who do not attend the mandatory site visit will be disqualified from consideration. Only bidders who pass the technical evaluation shall be invited to submit their financial proposals.

Prequalification of Suppliers and Contractors

Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO) is a grassroots movement that catalyzes large-scale transformation in urban slums by providing critical services for all, community advocacy platforms, and education and leadership development for women and girls.

 

SHOFCO wishes to prequalify suppliers and contractors from competent organizations for the provision of goods, works and services for a two year period.

 

SHOFCO has appointed SRM eProcurement as the consultants for this project. The pre-qualification process will therefore be conducted online via SRM eProcurement Portal. Interested suppliers should access and register on srmhub.com and select SHOFCO under “Apply  Tender”. SRM will examine the documents to determine completeness, general orderliness and sufficiency of response.

Detailed categories and more information about the prequalification exercise and application process will be available on the supplier’s dashboard on SRM portal.

 

Access to the prequalification shall be granted upon payment of a non-refundable tender fee of KES 2,500 per category. The payment method is by payment to SHOFCO’s paybill number 821815. For account indicate your organizations name and tender number.

 

Existing suppliers and contractors are required to participate alongside prospective suppliers in order to be re-evaluated and considered.

 

All applications must be submitted by 20th April 2022 at 1700hrs EAT.

 

SHOFCO reserves the right to accept or reject any bid in whole or in part at its discretion. All participants who duly complete the tender process online will be notified of the outcome.
