Future Education Director
Amy Hutchinson is returning to SHOFCO as the Director of Future Education. After graduating from Wake Forest University in 2009, Amy joined Accenture, a leading management, and technology consulting firm. During her seven-year career at Accenture, Amy worked with both private and public sector companies, including the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Kenya. During her time at SHOFCO, she’s gotten to know, respect, and admire each one of the students. Amy was immediately taken by the amazing work being done at the Kibera School for Girls (KSG). Feeling called to join the SHOFCO movement, Amy took a leave of absence from Accenture to establish the ‘Success in Kenya’ program at KSG.
The Success in Kenya program aimed to expose the KSG students to life outside of Kibera as they prepared to graduate attend schools outside of Kibera. The program encompassed one-on-one mentorship, a speaker series, and field visits to several companies.
Amy is very excited to be returning to SHOFCO as the Director of Future Education. During her time at SHOFCO, she got to know, respect, and admire each one of the students. The students have overcome many obstacles to reach their graduation at KSG, and soon MSG, and she is determined to provide them with the opportunities and support they require and deserve as they enter the next phase of their educational journey.
