Chief Programs Officer
Gladys Mwende joined SHOFCO in April 2021 as Chief Programs Officer. Mwende is responsible for leading program implementation and works closely with SHOFCO programs staff to achieve SHOFCO’s strategy and deliverables. Mwende holds a Master of Arts (MA) Degree in Peace Studies (Conflict Resolution & International Politics & Security Studies) from the University of Bradford, UK (2003). She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Development Management from Open University, UK (1999).
Mwende holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Studies from Kimmage Manor Development Centre, Dublin, Ireland (1992). She is a winner of the Dr. Arthur Clark Peace Fellowship award, Calgary University, Canada (2009- 2010). Mwende has extensive experience in program management, and recently returned to Kenya where she has served as a Country Director for three different international NGOs. Mwende has a proven record in developing and delivering high-quality programs and leading highly motivated multi-disciplinary teams of staff and consultants.
