YPP

Youth Peer Providers (YPP) began in March 2012 to create a safe space for teenage girls from vulnerable backgrounds who had been affected by teenage pregnancy. Kennedy Odede, CEO of Shining Hope For Communities (SHOFCO), was born to a teenage mother and always wanted to create a place where these women could feel empowered. He began a center and named it Youth Peer Providers (YPP) with the support of Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). The center has now grown and aims to educate and empower young people from the ages of 9-24.

YPP aims to strengthen and increase awareness about sexual and reproductive health among youth, promote use of contraceptives, and educate society about contraceptives and sexual reproductive health. YPP does school outreach, high school mentorship, holds youth forums, community dialogues, door to door education, talks at our health clinics and more.
